In 1991, Leventhal joined Fox News as a political analyst, but was later promoted to senior political analyst in 1996. He remained in that position until 2011.
In 2006, Leventhal began writing a column for the New York Times. He also wrote a column for the Washington Times from 2008 to 2010. In 2011, he became a columnist for Fox News, where he continues to write his column today.
